Thena Biotech is an early-clinical stage therapeutics development company that has a novel technology for treating solid tumors. This technology is based on the human ferritin protein characterized by unique healing properties. Our aim is to provide the base for further clinical success of these therapeutic drugs for neoplastic unmet medical needs.

Vision
The project aims at the exploitation of a novel nanomedicine platform in order to achieve versatile tools for cancer therapeutic purposes. Our project is focused on the therapy of life-threatening cancers that represent unmet medical needs such as solid tumors (pancreatic, triple-negative breast, lung, colorectal, sarcoma, brain and liver cancers). In 2024, there were about 20 million newly diagnosed cancer cases, with solid tumors comprising over 90% of these newly reported cases.
Selective delivery of therapeutic agents to diseased sites represents a major challenge to improve the efficacy and outcome of current therapies. Thena’s novel platform of unique drug carriers is based on engineered human ferritins capable of selective tumor targeting properties.
